Before logging in, you'll need:

1. A high-speed (DSL, cable, etc.) Internet connection
2. A valid library card (and PIN) in good standing
3. Overdrive Media Console software

4. Windows Media Player 9 software or above
   
   Windows Media Player is already installed on most Windows computers. Just in case, it is freely available at:

5. Windows Media Player Security Upgrade
   
   Overdrive Media Console requires a Windows Media Player Security Upgrade. You can get the security upgrade using one of two methods:
   
   A. After installing Overdrive Media Console, you can install the Media Player Security Update from within the Overdrive Media Console by selecting:
   
    Tools -> Windows Media Player Security Upgrade (as shown below)

   B. You can also install the Windows Media Player Security Upgrade by pointing Internet Explorer to:

   Note: Method B only works with Internet Explorer.
